Honoré·de Balzac(1799-1850)is one of the most outstanding critical realism writer in France. He completed a vast "encyclopedia" —— The Human Comedy, which provides us with the realistic history of the French society, especially the Paris society. In the early 19 th century, with the development of the industrial revolution, the urban population of Paris grew rapidly, and the number of apartment houses were also developed. The complex spatial organization of the apartment house represents a shift form earlier architectural articulations of private and public space. The apartment is a common space in Balzac's literary. This paper will explain the "apartment story" in Balzac's Paris' scene through the method of integrating urban studies, architectural theories and literary texts. The paper is divided into five parts. The first chapter is the introduction, which summarizes the research status of Balzac's literary at home and abroad. On this basis, the topic and research methods of this are put forward. The second chapter,"Balzac's Paris plot",sets the writer's personal experience in the Paris of the 19 th century. From the historical background and the writer's life,we will explore Balzac's unique urban experience and the creation of recreating the city and society in his works. The third chapter," the story writing of Balzac's apartment",will explore the unique apartment building form in early 19 th century in Paris,by the generation of apartment buildings and the design of apartment buildings.And.it also explores how Balzac created his "typical environment" with this special spatial pattern. The fourth chapter will make a specific interpretation of Balzac's apartment story by combining the apartment scenes in Cousin Pons,Poor Relations and Father Goriot. We will explore the role of the unique spatial pattern of apartment architecture in the narrative of the novel. In Cousin Pons,Poor Relations, the porter uses the "porous nature" of the apartment to invade the Pons space, the character of the apartment space contributed to the power of the porter. In Father Goriot, the volgai apartment is a microcosm of Paris' s lower class and the structure of the apartments is a metaphor for the social class of capitalism. The fifth chapter explores Balzac's reappearance art and social criticism from three perspectives: the division of classes, the presence of people from other provinces in Paris and the Paris built by money. With the industrial revolution, capitalist relations of production were established, and the establishment of new relations of production brings about the reconstruction of urban space, also brings about new social relations and moral order.
