A Study On Shen Yue’s Aesthetic Thoughts

Shen Yue was a very important scholar in the Southern Dynasty.He served Song,Qi and Liang dynasties,and made outstanding achievements in literature,history and other fields.In terms of literature,he was one of the advocates of Yong-Ming new style.His literary ideas and creative practice led the trend of The Times.In history,he composed four history books---History of the Jin Dynasties,History of the Song Dynasties,History of the Qi Dynasties and History of the Emporer Liangwu,and so on.Today,History of the Song Dynasties is one of the twenty-four histories.It is no wonder that he was praised by historiographer with the verse “he is a typical example in his time for being adept in history and konwlegeable”.At present,there are many scholars studying Shen Yue,and their research contents and achievements are quite rich and solid.However,the research mainly focuses on literature and history,and seldom discusses his aesthetic thoughts from the perspective of aesthetics.It is in this sense that it is necessary to study Shen’s hidden aesthetic concepts,aesthetic tastes and aesthetic ideals.This paper consists of seven parts: introduction,five chapters and conclusion.The introduction is a summary and supplement of Shen Yue’s research achievements in the past 100 years.The first chapter is about Shen Yue’s family and era.The specific social trend of thought and family environment had an important influence on Shen Yue’s thought,and were also important factors for the formation of his aesthetic thought.The second chapter is Shen Yue’s buddhist aesthetic thought.During the period of the Qi and Liang Dynasties,Fan Zhen’s essay on the theory of the destruction of god triggered a debate between the destruction of god and the preservation of god.Combining with Shen Yue’s theory,righteousness and other works,this paper analyzes the knowledge system and composition of Shen Yue’s immortal thought,namely thedeiform dualism.The theory of Buddha’s nature,which is often preached by understanding;The causal theory of "between one thought,many causes arise from each other".This paper analyzes the mixed buddhist aesthetic thoughts,namely the beauty of Buddha nature and the beauty of the pure state.Divine form rough and noble form;"Emotional photos";The aesthetic state of being unconscious.The third chapter is Shen Yue’s aesthetics of rites and music.First of all,it makes a simple comb and summary of Shen Yue’s music works.Secondly,combining with Shen Yue’s works,the composition of his music is analyzed: vessel,text,sentiment and official;Finally,from the three aspects of the common people born in the ruling group of the Southern Dynasty,the demand for the development of music and Shen’s personal reasons,the author analyzes Shen’s works,focusing on the elegant optimism of "singing the praises of virtue" and the common optimism of "Qing Li sorrow".The fourth chapter is the aesthetic criticism standard of Shen Yue’s literary criticism.This paper mainly focuses on Shen Yue’s works of history and poetry,analyzes the natural aesthetic purposive of "true emotion and beautiful color" in his poems by combining with the characteristics of The Times,analyzes the sound and rhythm beauty of "plain and smooth",and analyzes the aesthetic ideal of "both romantic and literary".The fifth chapter is the influence and significance of Shen Yue’s aesthetic thought.Shen Yue is an important aesthetic theorist in the aesthetic history of Qi Liang in the Southern Dynasty.His literary activities and aesthetic interest and the late in the Yong-Ming literature have far-reaching impact: under the three religions fusion form varied,mix of aesthetic form,for the south people compete for a place in the field of culture,and Xie Lingyun in literature,is a reflection of the north-south aesthetic cultural fusion,and the communication process of the aesthetic culture;Liu Xie’s inheritance of the aesthetic theory of literary criticism mainly reflects the theory of literature occurrence that attaches importance to nature and lyricism,advocates the theory of plain and natural aesthetic ideal,pursues the perfect harmony of poetic sound and rhythm,and advocates the beauty of "QingLi".After the ancient and new changes of Yong-Ming new style beautiful sound and rhythm.As an important representative of the mixing and synthesis of the aesthetic culture in the Qi Liang period of the Southern Dynasty,Shen Yue was also an important representative of the transformation of the classical aesthetic culture to a higher synthesis stage and to the mature form in the middle and ancientdynasties.But this kind of big synthesis,big unification esthetic culture,for the prosperous Tang Dynasty esthetic culture true mature realm arrival,prepared the sufficient historical foundation and the preparation.The conclusion is the summary of the whole thesis and the summary of the value of Shen’s aesthetic thought.
