How To Better Play Debussy's “image Collection”

Claude Debussy was a French composer of impressionism,“Image collection”?was completed in 1907 by Debussy in his mature stage,and it is a representative work of Debussy's piano music.Debussy was influenced by symbolism poetry,Impressionism painting and Gamelan Music,etc.In this paper,there is a comparative study of the playing versions of Dang Thai-son and Seong-Jin Cho,mainly in terms of timbre,pedalling,the treatment of free rhythm and expression terms.Since there are three pieces in ”Image collection”?,this paper is divided into three chapters and each chapter compares one work.The last section of each chapter is a comparative analysis of the work and some suggestions to play Debussy's music in the future.This paper is written to provide ideas for the students who will be learning and playing Debussy music in the future.
