English writing has always been a difficult skill for language learners to master,and it is also a major and difficult point for teachers in English teaching.With the advancement of educational reform,English teaching in senior high schools pays more and more attention to the improvement of students' English writing ability and the effectiveness of writing teaching.However,in practice,the effect of senior high school English writing teaching is not ideal.Most teachers adopt the results-based writing method for teaching,which leads to students' lack of writing interests and their inability to use effective writing strategies,which eventually leads to the slow improvement of English writing ability.Ecological teaching mode is the direction of healthy development of teaching mode.It should not only be reflected in single teaching mode in the practical application of classroom teaching.Instead,we should strive to achieve the complementary adaptation and co-development of various teaching modes.It is characterized by organic integrity,dynamic openness,covariant symbiosis and stable balance.The theoretical bases of the ecological teaching mode are ecology and ecology of education.Ecology is the science that studies the laws and mechanisms of interaction between living systems and environmental systems,emphasizing the role of each species in maintaining the integrity of the ecosystem and the intrinsic value it has.Ecology of education studies the role and interrelationship of various ecological factors in education in the ecological environment and human physiological and psychological environment and seeks to establish a scientific and reasonable ecological environment for the healthy development of educational ecological subjects.This study tries to apply the ecological teaching mode to the English writing teaching in senior high school,aiming to explore the influence of the ecological teaching mode on the English writing scores,writing strategies and writing autonomy of senior high school students,so as to provide effective methods for improving the English writing teaching level in senior high school.The study applies the ecological teaching mode to senior high school English writing teaching,and tries to answer the following three questions:1.In what aspects does ecological teaching mode affect students'English writing scores?2.What impact does ecological teaching mode have on students' use of writing strategies?3.How does ecological teaching mode influence students' English writing autonomy?The study lasts for 18 weeks.100 students are selected as the research subjects.They are from two parallel classes in grade one of a certain senior high school in Yingkou,Liaoning province.There are 50 students in the experimental class and the control class respectively,and the English level of the students is equal before the experiment.The traditional teaching mode is applied in the control class.The ecological teaching mode is used in the experimental class.The research instruments involve pre-and post-tests,questionnaires,and interview.The data is analyzed by SPSS 23.0 software,including the analysis of independent sample T-test and paired sample T-test.After 18 weeks of empirical study,the author finds that the score of English writing in the experimental class has an obvious improvement compared with the score in control class.One of the findings is that students in EC make a significant achievement in the aspects of wording,content,structure,coherence and grammar in English writing.The frequency of students' use of writing strategies has been greatly increased,and the autonomy of students' English writing has also been obviously changed.They change their attitudes from avoiding writing to learn English writing actively.Finally,the author proposes some limitations,implications and suggestions of the research.
