A Report On English-Chinese Translation Of Dear Friend,from My Life I Write To You In Your Life

This translation report focuses on the memoir,Dear Friend,from My Life I Write to You in Your Life,by the Chinese American writer Li Yiyun,and explores the difficulties and approaches of translation under the guidance of strategies of domestication and foreignization.The report comprises five parts,including introduction,translation process description,translation text analysis,case analysis and summary.In particular,in the part of case analysis,the translator has paid special attention to illustrate the difficulties encountered and measures taken accordingly during her translation process.In addition,the corresponding translation approaches frequently mentioned in this translation report under the guidance of strategies of domestication and foreignization,such as rearrangement of word order,change of the voices,proper division and diction of equivalent Chinese expressions in the source text,has been summarized to some extent.By analyzing the translation difficulties and problems of Chinese American literature under the guidance of strategies of domestication and foreignization through translation practice,the translator intends to find out some solutions to those problems,improve her theoretical knowledge and practical ability of translation,and to make more and more readers know the Chinese American writers,their English books,their personal lives and experiences as well.
