The establishment of the Republic of China brought modern China into a new stage.However,the modern Chinese society under the new order is not as beautiful as expected,instead,it presents a situation of political turmoil,instability of people's minds,disorder of social morality and prominent crisis of belief.Under this background,the thought of respecting Confucius rose all over the country,and then the organizations of respecting Confucius emerged one after another,contributing to the great "Confucian movement".Among them,the Confucius Association,which played a leading role,was the most famous and influential Confucius organization at that time.At that time,in order to strengthen the momentum of the Confucian movement,under its call,all the Confucian branch societies were established,echoing the general assembly and jointly promoting the continuous development and deepening of the Confucian movement.At present,the academic circles often focus on the research of Confucius church,but seldom pay attention to the specific situation of the local branch of Confucius church.Therefore,this paper takes the Confucius branch of Fengtian province as an example,through a systematic examination of its development context,organizational structure,personnel composition,main activities and actual results,to explore the role of the Confucius branch of Fengtian province in the Confucius movement and the interaction between it and the local society under the social background at that time,and to objectively analyze and evaluate the Confucius branch of Fengtian province.The main content of this paper includes: the first part mainly introduces the general situation of the rise and fall of Fengtian branch of Confucianism.First,it explains the background of the establishment of the association,and then combs and analyzes the specific situation of its predecessor,establishment and final decline.The second part focuses on the construction of Fengtian branch of Confucius education,focusing on the organizational structure,membership and funding issues,in order to further understand the internal structure of the organization.The third part discusses the main activities of the Confucius branch of Fengtian province,and analyzes the functions and limitations behind the activities.From the national level,the association actively responded to the call of the Confucius Association,and supported the national education movement through petition activities and field visits;from the local level,the association actively carried out activities in the local society,such as participation in Confucius worship,propaganda and speech,advocacy of schools and research societies,and sought development paths.The fourth part mainly from the background of the national Confucian movement,the rule of Fengtian provincial government and the limitations of the association itself,to make an objective evaluation of the branch.First of all,it discusses the relationship with the Confucius Association and makes a positive evaluation.Secondly,it analyzes the political,economic and social environment,and concludes that the attitude of governor Zhang zuolin has a direct impact on the development process of the Confucius Association in Fengtian province.Finally,it expounds the limitations of the Association itself,including organizational defects,insufficient funds,and the lack of responsibility of the main staff.Finally,in the conclusion part,the Confucius branch of Fengtian province is examined under the background of the early Republic of China and the national Confucius movement,and briefly discusses and summarizes the development path of the organization,and draws the conclusion that the Confucius branch of Fengtian province has the nature of pompous to some extent.
