In the Zhuang language system of Guangxi, the use of end words is very common. The commonly used end words are:[pai24](go),[li(?)u51](end),[k?(?)n33](first)and[m?r33](new),etc.In this paper, the most confusing two words[pai24]and[li(?)u51]are selected for comparative study. The full text consists of four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. This paper mainly describes the background, research object, research significance, research methods and corpus sources. The second chapter mainly analyzes and summarizes the relevant literature of the two words[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of Zhuang sentence. At present, scholars still have differences on the grammatical function classification of the two words, the difference point is that different scholars have different methods and criteria for the division of the two words. The third chapter mainly discusses the grammatical functions of the last words[pai24]and[li(?)u51]in Zhuang sentences, from four aspects:syntactic function, semantic function, pragmatic function and grammaticalization path.First of all, from the perspective of syntactic function. The syntactic functions of Zhuang words[pai24]include:predicate verb, mode particle, result complement, trend complement, causative state particle and degree mark, etc.;the syntactic functions of Zhuang words[li(?)u51]include:predicate verb, full name quantifier, result complement, degree mark, existing mark and continuous word, etc.Through the comparative analysis of the syntactic functions of[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of Zhuang sentence,we find that[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of Zhuang sentence can not be deleted at will, although they have not much practical significance, but they have a clear division of grammar;when[pai24]and[li(?)u51]are both marked with a degree at the end of sentence, the degree of emphasis of[li(?)u51]is higher than that of[pai24];when they are both marked with a degree, the degree of emphasis of[li(?)u51]is higher than that of[pai24]When it is translated into the already marked[Le]in Chinese,[pai24]focuses on the degree of emphasis,while[li(?)u51]focuses on the change of things,and[pai24]is not a real already marked;when[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of the sentence are both degree marks and already marks, the two words are used interchangeably, and the Chinese translation meaning of the sentence changes the least.Secondly, from the semantic function level,we think that the enabling auxiliary[pai24]has the semantic function of mandatory selection of the agent, and the full name quantifier[li(?)u51]has the semantic function of mandatory selection of quantity.Thirdly, from the perspective of pragmatic function,we believe that the pragmatic functions of[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of Zhuang sentence in Guangxi mainly have the functions of highlighting degree, implying presupposition and highlighting emotion, while the last word[pai24]also has the pragmatic functions of determining sentence mood and sentence class. Finally, from the perspective of grammaticalization path, the grammatical functions of Zhuang[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of sentence come from the grammaticalization of verbs, and the different meanings of verbs lead to the different semantic functions attached to them when they develop into degree marks. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the source of the end of Zhuang sentence.First, the two Zhuang words are compared with their Chinese counterparts.Secondly, with the help of Guangxi Chinese dialects, the source of Zhuang[pai24]and[li(?)u51]is proved. After comparative analysis,we find that In the Chinese dialects outside Guangxi, the usage of[qu51]to make an assistant and mark the degree,[wan24]as a whole quantifier and mark the degree are relatively rare, and the survey shows that Zhuang native speakers like to add[qu51]and[wan24]at the end of sentences when they learn Chinese. Therefore,we thinks that the two words[pai24]and[li(?)u51]at the end of sentences in Zhuang are the inherent words of Zhuang system itself, rather than Chinese loanwords.
