A Practice Report On The Whispered Interpreting At The Second Hebei International Industrial Design Week

This practice report is based on the whispered interpreting at the Second Hebei International Industrial Design Week.On November 21,2019,this event was held at Xiongan New Area.As an interpreter,I was so honored to take part in this design week.My task was to interpret two addresses from David Kusuma and one speech from Ben Evans.In this paper,I analyze the whole interpreting process in detail in order to summarize the gains and losses of this interpreting practice.This report is divided into four parts: task description,process description,case analysis and summary.Task description mainly introduces the source,contents and requirements of this task.Process description is a brief introduction of the interpreting practice,including the preparations for interpretation,interpreting process,feedback and self-reflection.The preparations for interpretation have great significance to this practice,including the collection and arrangement of relevant materials,the making of glossary list and the understanding of speaking styles.Case analysis is the key part of this report.Based on specific examples,it mainly analyzes how to achieve a reasonable interpretation by using interpretation skills.And for some inappropriate interpretations,I analyze them in depth and provide the revisions.In the last part,I summarize the gains and losses of this interpreting practice.And I also analyze and reflect on my performance in order to get a clear direction of self-improvement in the future.Through the review of this interpreting practice,I summarize some interpreting principles and techniques.I hope that this paper can afford some lessons for similar interpretations.
