Under the background of ethnic migration and cultural inclusion, with the development of modern economy and society and the change of ethnic concept, many Tibetan residents moved from pastoral areas to urban life for various reasons. In the decades of getting along with the han hui and other ethnic minorities,in order to adapt to the local society,a series of changes have taken place in the religion, marriage custom and family of the tibetans in xining city, which is different from the tibetans in the traditional pastoral areas.Meanwhile, cultural changes have taken place in the ways of livelihood, diet and customs.Although the tibetans living in xining, qinghai province, are deeply influenced by the culture of the hui nationality of the han nationality and are located in the han and tibetan-hui mixed community, they still maintain a strong ethnic identity. This paper discusses the cultural change and cultural adjustment of urban Tibetan from four aspects: daily life, spiritual world, way of living, marriage and family. The society is developing and the cities are expanding. The tibetans living in the cities are no different from the han Chinese only in appearance.A nomadic people from the traditional to the modern is an inevitable result, ethnic minority immigrants cultural change is inevitable, some people say,it is a painful process.Since there is no single Tibetan community in xining, the author defines the area with Tibetan residents accounting for 30% as the "Tibetan community" in the title. In this paper, case investigation of several families was conducted by means of participant observation and interview,so as to understand the cultural changes of Tibetan immigrants in the city and the cultural adjustments they made in the face of cultural changes. The interview subjects in this paper are ramao zhuoma’s family, which is a typical urban Tibetan immigrant family,so there are many descriptions about this family.Through the observation of daily life and interviews with investigators, the author can see a dilemma of the current urban Tibetan immigrants: that is,they have been integrated into the other culture, but they have no choice but to change the traditional culture and customs,so they can only try their best to maintain it.When integrating into the new culture, the attitudes of the old generation and the new generation show a trend of polarization, which also becomes the reason for the author to write this article, because the cultural change and cultural adjustment of the urban tibetans are related to the future survival and development of the ethnic minorities in the city.
