The Cultural Connotation And Value Of Urban Micro Documentary

The image is a faithful observer of a city.Since its birth,the documentary has been endowed with the cultural attribute of objectively recording social reality.It truly reproduces the cultural life of urban people relying on its unique audio-visual tool.Along with the popularization of the Internet and the changes in the consumption habits of mass culture,micro-documentaries,as a new form of documentary,begins to spring up.With Ergeng Video Platform's “More Urban” series micro-documentary as the object of research and specific cases as the object of analysis,this paper explores the cultural significance and value behind the urban micro-documentaries,and analyzes the commercial application principle of "More Urban" micro-documentary combined with the realistic context.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part gives an overview of the research background and significance,summarizes the relevant literature on urban image,micro-documentaries and Ergeng Video Platform,explains the relevant concepts,determines the research scope and methods of this research,and briefly introduces the object of research.Chapter I traces the origin and development of micro-documentaries from the background and production mechanism of the rise of the "More Urban" micro-documentary on Ergeng Video Platform.Chapter II discusses the urban culture and cultural concepts expressed by the "More Urban" micro-documentary on Ergeng video platform using text analysis combined with the relevant theories of film semiotics.Chapter III analyzes the value of urban micro-documentaries based on the value theory from three dimensions,namely,literature value,communication value and industrial value.Finally the conclusion part makes a reflection on its existing problems and future development trends.The conclusions of this research are as follows.The city is the soil for the survival of micro-documentaries.The urban documentary images,as the carrier of urban cultural symbols,are of great significance to the construction of urban image and the recording and preservation of urban culture.The "More Urban" micro-documentary on Ergeng video platform not only has rich cultural connotation,but also has prominent commercial nature asan element of the business layout of the Ergeng Group.Therefore,while affirming its cultural value,we should also make a critical reflection on it.
