Romance of the Western Chamber is a classic repertoire in Chinese classical dramas,and it has been staged in various operas.The Peking Opera Romance of the West Chamber is one of the representative repertoire of the school of Zhang Junqiu.This thesis applies the research method of correlating theory with practice to analyze the tune art of the school of Zhang Junqiu as well as its innovation and practice in this play,so as to understand how Mr.Zhang Junqiu has used tune art to successfully shape Cui Yingying,an immortal character on stage.This thesis is divided into three parts.First of all,Zhang's vocal tune has the artistic characteristics of freshness,gorgeousness and elegance,combining vigor and softness which can impress the audience at first hearing.Secondly,Mr.Zhang Junqiu shows ingenuity in his creation of the tune of Romance of the Western Chamber.On the basis of showing intonation and emotion,he boldly creates his own singing style and gathered his unlimited thoughts on the creation of the tune into the character image of Cui Yingying,leaving this opera have many classic plots.Thirdly,this thesis holds the view that in the practice of singing on stage,the focus should be on the use of tune to express the character's emotion and singing rhythm.All in all,through the above research,this thesis discusses the tune art of the school of Zhang Junqiu in Romance of the Western Chamber as well as the singing skills and performance techniques of the character Cui Yingying in the stage practice.
