After Dvorak returned to his hometown of Czech oslovakia from the United States in 1895,his creative focus changed dramatically,from pure music to the creation of symphonic poems and operas.From 1896 to 1897,he wrote five symphonic poems,respectively The Water Goblin ?The Noon Witch ?The Golden Spinning Wheel ?The Wild Dove? A Hero's Song.Among them,the first four poems were inspired by poetry of the czech poet Erben's prosody anthology.Based on the cognition of theory of musical narrative,the author studies the narrative and interpretation of Dvorak.In the process of analysis,we focus on the analysis of the theme-motive and structure of music,n the end,through the theme of music,the author gets the cognition of the composer's metaphor and interpretationThis study is divided into three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the background of the production of the works.It introduces the development of the programme music in the romantic period,the birth and development of the symphonic poem,the Czech nationalism,and the creation background of the four symphonic poems of Dvorak.The second chapter discusses the musical narrative of the four works respectively.The third chapter discusses the musical narrative of Dvorak's symphonic poems in the background of the programme music.
