A Report On Petroleum Technological Russian Interpreting

Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward,the cooperation between China and Russia as well as CIS countries has been increasingly deepened.A large number of large-scale oil and gas projects have been launched in the CIS countries,which means there is an increasing demand for interpreters.This practice report,guided by the the Paris interpretative approach and based on the featured speciality of the university,namely oil and chemical engineering,is written on the basis of the in-class consecutive interpreting practice of class teaching on the simulated base of petrochemical industrial chain.With examples of the Russia-Chinese interpreting on petroleum exploitation and refining(catalytic cracking),the strategies and skills of the technological Russian interpreting are analyzed in this report.In addition,difficulties encountered in this technological Russian interpreting practice are presented and solutions are summarized in this report.This report consists of four parts.The first part mainly introduces the content,background,requirements and tasks of this interpreting practice.Only with a clear idea of the interpretation tasks can the preparation plan before interpretation be made.In the second part,preparation before interpretation,which mainly includes the accumulation and learning of specialized knowledge,the collection and collation of related information,is described in detail and explanation on its importance is elaborated.Adequate preparation before interpretation ensures the interpreter to better cope with various problems in this interpreting practice.In the third part which is the core chapter,problems encountered in this interpretation practice,such as problems in listening,notetaking,verbal expressions and vocabulary translation,are described in detail,and corresponding solutions are come up with to provide reference for interpreters of technological Russian.In the fourth part,a summary of the interpreting practice is given.
