Study On Exhibition Of The Tomb Frescoes Of Liao Dynasty And Related Issues

The Khitan tribe,as an ancient northern grassland ethnonationality in China,got started in the tenth century and established the Liao Dynasty.Liao successively occupied the Northern Song Dynasty and the Western Xia Dynasty,and also ruled northern China for more than 200 years.Therefore,the Liao Dynasty made great contributions to the integration and historical progress of the Chinese nation in terms of political system,religious beliefs,economic forms,and ethnic customs.Among them,the mural paintings of the Liao tombs,which play important role in artistic achievements of the Liao Dynasty,are not only valuable for historical research on history of Liao Dynasty,but also significant for the development of Chinese art with regarding to historical status and bririliant artistic achievements.Since the mural paintings of imperial tombs of the Liao Dynasty was uncovered to the world in the middle of last century,people have been paying more attention to the archeology of its tombs.After the founding of New China,the archaeological research has been progressing at an unprecedented speed.Besides,the archaeological data is quite detailed,and the multidisciplinary and multi-angle studies on the murals of the Liao tombs are also made great progress.However,the research on the design of the exhibition and its protection is still on the way.According to the in-depth investigation of the current display of the mural paintings of tombs of the Liao Dynasty in China,the paper,in combination of actual situation,is to study on the ideas and methods of the exhibition as well as the way of cultural relic protection that can be improved in the design,so as to summarize experiences and put forward ideas,hoping to provide theoretical and practical support and new ideas for the research and promotion of exhibition and protection of mural paintings of tombs of the Liao Dynasty.
