English learning is influenced by many factors,among which learning motivation plays a crucial role in English learning.In recent years,English learning motivation has attracted extensive attention from researchers.Researchers at home and abroad have done a lot of research on English learning motivation from different perspectives.Based on the study of Chinese and foreign literatures,this paper investigates the current situation of English learning motivation of senior high school students of Guangxi Liuzhou Senior High School for Nationalities.This paper analyzes the factors that influence the motivation of English learning of senior high school students for nationalities and puts forward relevant suggestions based on the actual situation.On the basis of previous studies and relevant theories of learning motivation,a random sample of 150 students from Guangxi Liuzhou Senior High School for Nationalities was selected as the research objects.By combining literature,questionnaire and interview,eight motivational factors of English learning,including intrinsic interest,achievement,learning situation,personal development,social needs,learning environment,significant others and attribution,were studied.The survey aims to explore the following three issues:(1)What are the main types of English learning motivation of high school students? What is the level of motivation?(2)What are the main factors that affect the motivation of high school students' English learning?(3)What are the differences of senior high school students' English learning motivation in different English scores?The survey results show that among the eight motivational factors,the mean value of social needs motivation is the highest,which indicates that the current English learning motivation of senior school students is mainly based on social demand motivation.Achievement motivation and personal development motivation follow social needs motivation.The results show that the motivation of high school students' English learning is mainly instrumental motivation,but students had the lowest intrinsic interest motivation.Secondly,special attention should be paid to the external factors that affect students' English learning motivation,such as learning environment and others' influence.A good learning atmosphere can stimulate their interest in learning,and the teacher's personality and teaching style directly affect their learning motivation.In the analysis of attribution factors,most students' attribution of English learning is correct and positive.Students with good English scores are higher than those with poor English scores in terms of personal development,learning situation,sense of achievement and social needs.In terms of learning situational motivation,students with high scores were more motivated than those with low scores.The study also found that students at all levels were similar in their Intrinsic interests.According to students' motivation in English learning,five strategies are proposed to stimulate the motivation of high school students' English learning:(1)To help students set English learning goals and build up confidence in English learning.(2)To build a good relationship between teachers and students.Let teachers play a role of example,subtly influence and inspire students in English teaching.(3)To pay attention to individual differences of students.Develop targeted training and guidance programs to stimulate students' English learning motivation.(4)To guide students to correct attribution.(5)To create a harmonious classroom atmosphere.Let students experience the fun of learning in English learning,teaching in fun and stimulating English learning motivation.
