The Study Of Commentary On The Supernatural Evil-spirit Novel In Ming And Qing Dynasties

Absrtact: Supernatural evil-spirit novel is one of novel genre with special features in popular fiction of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and its commentary has undergone a complete development process with the rise of popular fiction commentary.As a whole,the commentary on supernatural evil-spirit novel not only keeps in line with the commentary on popular fiction in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,but also has many characteristics and values of its own.This paper chooses 29 kinds of supernatural evil-spirit novel commentary books in Ming and Qing dynasties as the research object,combines the whole popular novel commentary and the development of Supernatural evil-spirit novel in Ming and Qing dynasties,combines the method of case study with the whole research,supplemented by the horizontal comparison with other novel schools’ commentary,and strives to make an objective and comprehensive elaboration and evaluation of the supernatural evil-spirit novel commentary in Ming and Qing dynasties.This article is divided into five chapters besides the introduction and the conclusion.The first chapter mainly combs the developent process of the commentary on the supernatural evil-spirit novel in Ming and Qing Dynasties,reveals the characteristics of each stage of development,and summarizes the specific situation of the supernatural evil-spirit novel commentary books and the specific form of the commentary.The second chapter mainly focuses on the commentator,summarizes and analyses the identity and reasons of the commentary.Chapter three explores the general characteristics of the commentary on the supernatural evil-spirit novel in Ming and Qing Dynasties,including the diversity and secularity of content,the interestingness and irony of language,strong religious flavor and didactic purposes,and a certain degree of literary aesthetics.Chapter IV focuses on the "novel concept" embodied in the commentary,including the overall understanding of the novel concept,as well as the specific novel creation theory in the aspects of characters,plots and structures.The fifth chapter focuses on the ideological concepts embodied in the commentary,including the concept of women,fate,ethics and historical concepts.This paper tries to make a reasonable positioning of the value and status of the commentary on the supernatural evil-spirit novel in Ming and Qing Dynasties through the elaboration of the above chapters.
