| Nowadays, philosophy of technology has turned into the period of combination of technology and ethics.Paul Verbeek put forward the idea of non-human technology ethics, and "materializing morality" together with "teaching morality" for the cultivation of human morality has become an important issue in the field of technology philosophy.Following the thinking of "forming moral behavior" and "shaping virtue",we will examine the possibility of "materializing morality" and teaching morality from moral behavior to virtue through a comprehensive interpretation of Verbeek’s "shaping" thought.First of all,we should follow Verbeek’s criticism of the ethical path of humanism and how to construct the non-human ethical path, analyze the concept of "material turn" and "materializing morality" of morality, present the moral adjustment function of technological objects, and analyze the theoretical dilemma of "materializing morality".Secondly, this paper analyzes the types of "materializing morality" and its dimensions from the perspective of technological plasticity and technological plasticity, focuses on the different roles of strong normative design and weak normative design in moral cultivation, and points out that forced technology is a kind of strong normative technology, which endows people with moral laws and regulations. Therefore,it only reflects the practical function of technological materials and only realizes the function of "materializing morality" to shape people’s virtue. However, technical objects have not only practical functions, but also symbolic functions.Weak normative technical design is a kind of symbolic demonstration. Therefore, through technical design,"materializing morality" is realized, whose purpose is not only to shape people’s virtue but also to present the function of teaching morality. Finally,we try to analyze the possible paths from moral behavior to virtue, and discuss how to design technology to achieve "teaching morality" aiming at a good life. |
