Japanese Paper "Mengjiang News" Research:1938-1943

The "Mengjiang News" is the only Japanese-language daily newspaper in the Mengjiang region.It was published on June 10,1938,and ceased publication in 1945.It mainly publishes domestic and foreign news and content related to the "Mongolian" politics,economy,culture,education,literature and religion.This article divides the "Mengjiang News" into two periods for research,the first period is June,1938 to March 1938,and the later period is April,1939 to May,1943.In-depth research on the characteristics of the newspaper and the content published in it,Investigate the social activities of Japanese and Mongolians in the Mengjiang region.To reveal how the "Mengjiang News" promotes Mengjiang and National Policy to the people at home and abroad,and on this basis,further investigate the issue of the newspaper’s role,social impact and literature value.The full text is composed of four chapters.The first chapter studies the “Mengjiang news” agency and its activities,the publishing organization of the "Mengjiang News",and discusses it from the background,organizational structure and publishing activities.The second chapter examines the content of the early period of the "Mengjiang News",that is,from June,1938 to March,1939.The third chapter focuses on the content of the later period of the "Mengjiang News",that is,April,1939 to May,1943.It consists of the reorganization andrelocation of Mengjiang News Agency,the structural changes of the news layout,the statistical data and content analysis of the reports in the Mengjiang region.Chapter 4 examines the activities of the Japanese reflected in the "Mengjiang News" during this period by analyzing the activities of Zhangjiakou Japan Resident Association,Howa Japan Resident Association,Datong Japan Resident Association and Baotou Japan Resident Association.And by analyzing the report content of the newspaper,further examine the specific activities of the Mongolians in the Mengjiang region in terms of politics,economy and culture.
