As one of Donizetti's comedies,The Daughter of the Regiment nearly perfectly shapes the positive image of the protagonist Marie.Based on the author's own practical experience of performing the three arias of the protagonist Marie in The Daughter of the Regiment, this thesis discusses the three aspects of “multiple bases”,“artistic analysis”,and “stage interpretation”,and points out that in order to perfectly perform Marie's arias on the stage,a deep understanding of the “multiple bases”--namely life basis, background basis, theme basis, and role basis--that affect the three arias should be achieved, which is the “knowledge preparation” that performers must have to successfully play Marie's role.An in-depth “artistic analysis” of the performing of the three arias should be conducted;the singing skills and art should be grasped accurately such as the personality portrayal in “Everyone Knows”,the sad feelings in “The Song of Parting”,and the passionate expression in “Salute to France”.As for “stage interpretation”,performers should insist on combining the art of singing, stage performing, and line expression;based on the solid foundation of singing, performance, and language, performers should be able to integrate various elements of opera stage singing and performance together and achieve the organic unity of the aria stage performance with the purpose and law.In short, the performance of the three arias of The Daughter of the Regiment should be based on the understanding of the multiple bases of aria singing, the mastery of the art of singing, and the grasp of stage performing.Only in this way can it be possible to better shape the image of the character Marie and perform the role of Marie well.
