"The picture says",namely "the picture paste says".In the long-term practice, the theory of "drawing and pasting" has gradually evolved into a relatively fixed category of books, that is,books with words after drawings. The map of the northern border town in the Ming Dynasty, that is,the northern border town as the main record object, the map and the combination of narrative works. From the classification point of view, the map of the northern military town belongs to the geographical works, but because of the unique military attribute of the military town, the map of the northern military town belongs to the military works. In the early period of the Ming Dynasty, the records of the northern feelings were divided into drawing and writing, and geography was depicted by maps, and the amount of money and grain was recorded in a document. In the early years of Jiajing, with the tension between the Ming Dynasty and Mongolia, the military fortifications in the northern part of the Ming Dynasty were perfected. In the Sixth Year of the reign of Emperor Jiajing,Gui Er,a scholar in the cabinet, compiled a copy of the map of the hands of the Ming Dynasty and presented it to Emperor Sejong the Great. This map uses the distribution map under the general map, under each map there is a narrative way,the population, food and other information, recorded in the map next to the map.To some extent, the compilation of this map also provided a stylistic reference for the later compilation of the map of the northern border town.In the early years of Longqing Dynasty, the Ministry of war, because of the need to revise the nine-sided picture, made each side of the garrison drawing the picture of this place. This move to a large extent to the graph said this form of extension to the sides, since then, the drawing of the graph said quickly reached a peak. This paper analyzes three kinds of nine-sided graph theory and three kinds of edgetown graph theory, and one kind of nine-sided graph theory and six kinds of edge-town graph theory after the completion of the map in Long Khanh. Before the reign of Jiajing, the theory of nine-edge map or the theory of edge-town map had not been emphasized in the content and the arrangement of the text. After Longqing, the drawing said that the content and the arrangement of the text were relatively uniform, and most of them were in the form of book pages. The first general drawing was followed by sub-drawing,and the figure was followed by the said form. The content included the drawing information of mountains, rivers, side walls, castles, piers and platforms within the territory under the jurisdiction of the government,he also recorded the number of soldiers and horses, the pressure of defense, and the strategy of resisting the enemy. In the Ming Dynasty, the compilers of the northern map were mostly the present garrison ministers of the army and other towns. The drawing is in the form of a long scroll or a book page.In the drawing technique, the traditional Chinese language techniques of blue and green landscape are used.As an important military historical material in the northern part of the Ming Dynasty, the map of the northern border town of the Ming Dynasty said that at that time it had an important role in providing a basis for the imperial court's decision-making and a reference for the border generals guarding the border. For later generations, the map of the border town that has been preserved says,it not only provides a reference for later compilation of local chronicles, but also provides an important historical basis for us to study the northern border defense and the interaction between Ming and Mongol.
