"Teachers are the foundation of education".Teachers’ educational practice is the basis of promoting the national educational reform and development,and the key to improve the quality of education lies in the overall quality of teachers.With the deepening of education reform and quality education in China,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the current situation,influencing factors and development strategies of junior middle school English teachers’ teaching ability.This research is based on the research theories and methods of teachers’ teaching design at home and abroad.On the basis of the investigation and analysis of the current situation of the use of junior middle school English teachers’ teaching ability,the understanding and implementation of teachers’ teaching ability are understood.The problems and reasons of teachers’ application of teaching ability before,during and after teaching are also studied with many literatures In order to improve the teaching ability of junior middle school English teachers,the strategies are designed.In this study,the English teachers in some junior middle schools in w City are selected as the subjects.The results of this research show that English teachers in junior high schools in w City have good teaching ability,there is little difference in the three dimensions of gender,marriage and English background.The main problems of junior middle school English teachers’ teaching ability are: teachers lack of enough teaching design ability,the overall level of teaching implementation ability is relatively low,the teaching guidance ability is not strong,the teaching research ability is relatively poor,the teaching reflection ability and self-evaluation ability are lack,and so on.This needs a series of corresponding countermeasures from the state to the school and then to the teachers themselves.These measures include the leading role of the state’s education policy,the creation of good conditions for teachers to continue their studies,the organization and promotion of national professional competition for English teachers,etc.Schools should adjust normal courses,keep up with school-based training,strengthen teachers’ theoretical literacy,and build a professional community of teachers;teachers should actively reflect on teaching and promote the improvement of teaching ability;carry out teaching research and improve teachers’ professional quality;establish the concept of lifelong learning and constantly promote their own growth;study new curriculum standards and lead new changes in English teaching design Fully understand the students and pay attention to different teaching.
