The English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011)points out that the basic English language knowledge that students should learn and master in the compulsory education stage includes pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar and the language forms used to express common topics and functions.Grammar is an important part of language knowledge.It is necessary to review grammar at the stage of primary school graduation,but students often show insufficient interest in English grammar review class.The traditional grammar review class is also relatively outdated and inefficient.Students'grammar scores are even worse.Mind map is an effective graphic thinking tool to express divergent thinking.It is simple but effective,and it is a practical thinking tool.Based on this,this paper starts from the actual situation of English grammar teaching in primary school,discusses the role of mind map in grammar review class in primary school,in order to solve the problems of students'lack of interest in English grammar review and low grammar scores.This research chooses the students of Grade 6 in Dalatqi the 6~thh Primary School as the research subject,and combines the teaching practice with the methods of test,questionnaire and interview to explore the application effect of mind map in English grammar review lessons in primary schools.The main research questions are:1.Can mind map stimulate students'interest in primary school English grammar review class?2.Can mind map improve primary school students'English grammar score?Two major findings are achieved after the experiment.Firstly,the application of mind map in grammar review has a positive impact on students'grammar scores.Secondly,mind map can improve students'interest in grammar review.In a word,the way of integrating mind map into English grammar review in primary school has changed the dull and inefficient traditional mode.Moreover,such a grammar review class is helpful for students to systematically learn and master grammar knowledge so as to effectively improve their English grammar scores and interest in grammar review,and lay a good basis for their life-long learning.Therefore,it is feasible and effective to carry out the mind map based English grammar review course in primary schools.On this basis,according to the main findings and limitations of this study,suggestions for further research are put forward.
