Research On The Application Of Chinese Traditional Elements In Stop Motion Animation

Since the 1920 s,China has been committed to the creation of animation art.Under the slogan of "Exploring the Road of National Style" in the 1950 s,animation works created with traditional Chinese elements as materials are unique in style and have a strong national flavor.Among them,there were 215 stop motion animation works from 1947 to2000,accounting for more than one-third of the total creations.However,domestic and foreign scholars have done little research on the use of traditional elements as creative materials for stop motion animation,and have done more research on "Chinese Animation School" and "National Character of Chinese Animation".Therefore,this article studies around the perspective of "the application of traditional Chinese elements in stop motion animation",trying to summarize the application and manifestation of traditional elements from stop motion animation,and using traditional elements to create stop motion animation short film as application practice,it will further make useful attempts for the research and creation of stop motion animation art.The article takes the traditional Chinese elements in stop motion animation as the starting point,and applies the traditional elements from the expression methods,story themes,and music special effects in stop motion animation works through literature research,concept combing,film observation,and case analysis research methods.The full text is mainly divided into the following four parts: Chapter 1 defines the concept of traditional elements and traditional elements in stop motion animation,and discusses the origin and historical process of Chinese stop motion animation;Chapter 2 from the artistic form,It will be according to the puppet animation,paper-cut animation,origami animation andother films in the stop motion animation,and the application of traditional elements in the stop motion will be analyzed;Chapter 3 will focus on the traditional literature theme and folk music in the traditional elements in the stop motion from the artistic content analysis research on the application of animation;Chapter 4 combines the early representative work of the stop motion animation "Afanti’s Story" and the "Fengxueshan Temple" produced in recent years for example analysis,as well as the creative practice of the stop motion animation short film "Gift to the Forest" Further thinking and exploring the difficulties and specific measures of traditional elements in stop motion animation.
