| In urban public transportation,the metro has been widely favored by the public because of its high speed,large volume and high safety.It has become an important means of transportation in people’s daily travel.With the rapid development of metro construction,the visual art in metro space has also been expanded.The metro space is decorated with art and culture walls,sculptures and light box advertisements,enriching people’s travel life.In the book“Understanding Media”,McLuhan believes that all media are extensions of the body’s senses.Through the touch and extension of various senses in metro space,the metro has become the “invisible” medium of urban cultural transmission.The rich visual images presented by each station have formed different local cultures,which reflect the cultural composition and cultural context of the city.Chapter 1 introduces the source of the topic,research status,purpose and significance,research framework,contents and methods.Chapter 2,taking the metro visual image as the starting point,the composition of it is discussed.And it is followed by the introduction of the identification and guidance,aesthetic,cultural and commercial functions of Metro visual image.Chapter 3 explores the relationship between the metro visual image and the urban culture.On the one hand,the daily operation of the metro in the city can maximize the dissemination of urban culture,which is an important window for showing urban culture.On the other hand,urban culture enriches the theme of the visual image design of the metro.The city’s historical culture,business culture,spiritual culture and other culture,which are expressed by metro advertisements,public art and entrance and exit buildings etc,are comprehensively reflected in the metro space.Chapter 4 analyses the visual expression of Jiangcheng culture in Wuhan Metro.Wuhan Metro Line 2 is one of the early subway lines that attach great importance to urban culture in China.The urban culture is expressed relatively perfectly.From the perspective of visual communication,the author discusses the presentation of Wuhan urban culture in the major stations of Line 2,and analyses the concrete contents and expressions of Jiangcheng culture in Metro space.The visual image design of Wuhan Metro has deeply excavated the connotation of Jiangcheng culture,which creates a space where culture and people live in harmony.These are the results of joint efforts:the Wuhan Municipal Government,the Metro Group,the design team and the production team.Chapter 5,based on the visual performance of Wuhan Metro and combined with other cities’ excellent cases,summarizes the performance principles and basic methods of urban culture application in metro visual image design.At the end of the article,the paper concludes and looks forward.Metro construction is not finished overnight.Major cities in china still have been and will have been in the metro constructions for a long time.Metro space is not only a necessary place for public transportation,but also a museum space,an art space and a cultural space.Through the successful expression of regional culture excavation,inheritance and reproduction in the Wuhan metro construction,hopes it can provide a certain theoretical basis for related research and some useful references and values for the cities that are under metro constructions and will be under metro constructions. |
