A Report On The E-C Translation Of News From The Guardian Under The Guidance Of Communicative Theory

As a relatively common and typical text type,the news text has received considerable attention and brought about more researches in recent years.After the time when Peter Newmark put forward communicative translation theory,the translation of such texts,has already been extended to more specific news texts under the guidance of the communicative translation theory.The main purpose is to achieve the transmission and communication of the source texts.The translation materials of this report is selected from the environment column of The Guardian.They are standard news texts.The eight texts mainly talk about present situation of several wildlife and related protection work.This translation report focuses on the case analyses under the guidance of the communicative translation theory and summarizes the main gains.At the same time,several translation techniques in the case of translating news texts are employed,such as conversion,addition and omission.
