Jia Pingwa’s creation runs through the whole process of contemporary literary creation since the new period of China.Since entering the literary arena,Jia Pingwa has always grasped the pulse of the times,followed the pace of social development,and never stopped writing.His works also have the significance of recording the changes of the times and reflecting the spirit of the times.An important reason why Jia Pingwa’s novels can achieve outstanding results is that he can persist in paying attention to and writing about the contemporary social reality.Since the beginning of the new century,Jia Pingwa has created works in a manner close to the rural society.He maintains a civilian perspective and gives sincere concern to the rural areas in the process of transformation,as well as the farmers facing anxiety and spiritual confusion.Jia Pingwa always keeps a sense of responsibility to keep a record for the times in his creation,and has compassion for the bottom figures in trouble.His works not only express the living experience of the current rural society,but also condense the author’s contemporary worries.Realistic concern is the spirit that writers show in their creation to be close to reality,to pay attention to social life,and to keep pace with the changes of the times.This paper takes Jia Pingwa’s novel in the new century as the research object,and explores the multiple expressive angles and significance of his realistic concern from his rural writing.The text of this article is divided into five chapters: Chapter one mainly discusses the occurrence of Jia Pingwa’s concern for rural reality in the context of the new century from the context of the times and culture,the local complex of Shaanxi writers and the writing tradition of caring for real life,the writer’s personal identity and writing standpoint;Chapter two expresses his realistic concern from the writer’s concern for rural reality.The natural scenes of rural deprivation,the decline of rural economy and the crisis of psychological transformation,as well as the multiple situations facing the transformation of rural power structure are all the important manifestations of the realistic concern of the writers.The third chapter discusses the writers’ genuine concern for the peasants.From the presentation of rural daily life,to the revealing of the pressure of farmers’ material life,to the emphasis on farmers’ spiritual predicament and the reflection of human nature,the author conveys theconcern of farmers from the inside to the outside in many aspects;Chapter IV explores Jia Pingwa’s worries about the situation of rural traditional culture and his attempt to explore the value of traditional culture;Chapter V concerns Jia Pingwa’s rural reality.Meaning is sorted out and discussed.The works show the reality of the countryside and reflect on modernity.They also integrate the writer’s compassion and show the warmth of care.At the same time,Jia Pingwa’s creation also provides an experience for contemporary literature to write Chinese stories.
