A Study On Gender Culture In Chinese Proverbs

Proverbs are one of the most important parts of the language which has a long history and rich content.Chinese proverbs reflect the unique thinking mode and cultural psychology of Han nationality and carry its profound cultural connotation.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Chinese proverbs about gender to explore the unique customs about gender and psychological concept of people.The article mainly uses the cultural linguistics research method,divides the Chinese proverbs culture research into four parts,the first part expatiates gender custom and culture of the Han nationality embodied the custom of the division of labor between the sexes,the production custom of men at their ploughs and women at their looms.The second part is the wedding custom and other festivals taboo custom and so on.The third part is the embodiment of Han nationality’s gender psychological culture in proverbs,which mainly includes the aesthetic concept,the concept of spouse selection,emotional concept and ethical concept.Finally,from the artistic characteristics of Chinese proverbs,this paper sums up how proverbs use the art of language to express their rich and meaningful aesthetics.Starting from the rhetorical expression of Chinese proverbs,this paper makes a further analysis of the expression and content of Chinese proverbs,so as to reveal the thinking mode of Chinese people in the creation of proverbs and aesthetic taste.The above is of great significance to broaden the research field of linguistics,to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture,to abandon the backward and decadent ideas,to promote the progress of the concept of gender equality,and to build a harmonious and civilized modern society.
