Abstract/Summary:
The Guihuacheng Tumed area is a staggered area of farming-pastoral zone and people have entered the area for cultivation in the middle of the Ming dynasty. After the Qing Dynasty, the Qing government occupies land in a variety of ways.Mongolias had divided Hukou land、temple land and public nomadic land.A large number of migrants from the middle of the Qing Dynasty migrated from outside the Great Wall to seek a way to live.Land becomes the focus of society. The people entered into a land contract with Mongol to obtain the "permanent lease" of the land from Mongol. Some people derive benefits from the subletting of land. The land consolidation at the end of the Qing Dynasty clarified the land relationship and changed the ownership of the land. There is a strong connection between land development and the formation of rural settlements. The people gradually settled down in the area by renting the mongolian ’s Hukou land, the land of temple and catholic church. On the basis of historical literature, research and field practice, thepaper combs the land reclamation process since the Qing Dynasty in this area.It uses the land contract instrument as a clue to the situation of land circulation and the close relationship between land lease and village formation. The discussion above reflects the process of local society entered the state system.
