Since modern times,with the development of Western learning,vocational education thought has been quietly introduced into China,and promoted the rise and development of Vocational Education in China.Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province,with its unique natural conditions and political and cultural advantages,has become the main position of vocational education construction in the whole province.Under the active advocacy of the government and people of insight,vocational education has made outstanding achievements and written a bright page in the educational history of the Republic of China.This paper comprehensively investigated the development of Vocational Education in Guanzhong area in 1912-1945.The special political,economic,cultural and educational background in Guanzhong area is an important reason for the rise of vocational education.In 1931,the development of Vocational Education in Guanzhong can be roughly divided into two stages.In the former stage,vocational education in Guanzhong has been initially developed,and there are agricultural,industrial and other vocational education institutions,but the number is not large,and the development is relatively slow,which is the initial stage of vocational education;after the administration of yanghucheng,the implementation of the revitalization of education policy,the development of vocational education has entered a new stage.During this period,the government actively supported the education,the education department standardized the vocational education teaching affairs,strengthened the school running guidance,combined with the call of developing the northwest thought,which prompted many people in Guanzhong to participate in the vocational education,and regarded the establishment of vocational education as the best way to cultivate talents,promote economic development and supplement the needs of people's livelihood.As a result,public and private vocational schools such as agricultural,industrial and commercial and medical schools,as well as vocational tutoring schools,have been established in succession,and the scale,category and influence scope of vocational education have been continuously expanded.These vocational education institutions have actively explored curriculum,teaching staff and personnel training,and made positive contributions to personnel training and social and economic progress.Under the influence and restriction of war,funds and other factors,the development of Vocational Education in Guanzhong region has gone through hardships and twists,and its experience and lessons in the turbulent years have some enlightenment and reference.
