In Bunin's novels,almost every one mentions death,and some of them take death as the theme.This paper is divided into five chapters,and makes an in-depth analysis of the types,creative motives and implications of the death theme in Puning's novels.The first chapter is the introduction.This paper expounds the purpose and significance of the topic.This paper discusses the research situation of Bunin's novels at home and abroad,focusing on the research materials of "theme","death theme" and "death" in Bunin's novels.The main contents,research methods and innovations of this paper are summarized.The second chapter classifies the death themes in Bunin's novels.Based on the content of the novel,it can be divided into environmental death and human death.Based on the concept of equality between man and nature,Bunin believes that environment has human life and emotion.He described the destruction of the natural environment and the decline of the manor,and created the environment of death.The second part discusses the death of human being,which is divided into subjective will death and non subjective will death.The former refers to the person's voluntary pursuit of death,while the latter refers to the person's murder or accidental death.The third chapter is the motivation analysis of Bunin's death theme creation.This paper analyzes the formation of Bunin's view of death and the causes of his concern about death,mainly from two aspects of Bunin's personal experience and religious thought.The first part discusses the background of Bunin's era and his emotional experience.The former mainly analyzes the impact of social unrest on the formation of Bunin's concept of death,and the latter analyzes the impact of lovelorn and failed marriage on Bunin.The second part discusses the influence of the Orthodox Eastern Church and Buddhism on Bunin's death theme creation.Bunin's novels embody the characteristics of the worship of Foolishness for Christ and mysticism in the Orthodox Eastern Church,and the novel All the people of the world are brothers embodies the characteristics of Buddhist thought.The fourth chapter discusses the meaning of the theme of death in Bunin's novels,which is divided into two parts: awe of death and beyond death.Awe of death refers to Bunin's fear and respect for death.Because of fear of death,he regards death as a powerful punishment.The first part discusses the punishment effect and critical function of death,so as to achieve the purpose of exposing and criticizing the reality,and warning the world to seek the harmonious coexistence of human and nature.The second part discusses the victory and beyond death,which can be divided into two aspects: the eternity of love and the continuity of history.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.Based on the analysis of the text,this paper summarizes the main points of the types,influencing factors and the meaning of death in Bunin's death novels.From Bunin's novels,this paper sums up the features of development stage of Bunin's view of death.In his early works,Bunin was more awed of death,and gradually turned to surpass death in the later period.Putting forward the direction of future research.
