Music Characteristics And Performance Analysis Of Schoenberg's Six Piano Pieces Op.19

The 20 th century was a period of reform in which various western art schools reformed and innovated,and their music also changed from a period of common writing to a period of individual writing.This period is the dividing line and watershed between traditionalist music and modernism music.They take the traditional "change" as the tenet followed by various schools or composers.The breakthrough means is to shake the important position of tonality in traditional music,reposition the functions of rhythm,timbre,texture and other musical elements one by one,and finally establish a new music that is essentially cut off from traditional music,that is,music of the 20 th century.Especially after Schoenberg's twelve-tone system was established,the atonality creation of music in the 20 th century really began.Music also developed step by step from the initial exploration stage to a mature twelve-tone sequence.Complexity of rhythm and timbre replaced melody as the main expression means of music creation at that time.Schoenberg,as a pioneer of atonal music creation,is the initiator and founder of new music in the 20 th century.He constantly thinks about how to innovate music creation skills,explores new ways of music structure,and assiduously pursues new thinking of music creation,deeply infecting subsequent composers.At the same time,for players,playing Schoenberg's piano works is regarded as a sign of dabbling in modern music.Therefore,this paper analyzes Schoenberg's atonal music "six piano pieces" OP.19,and explores how atonal music evolved from the change of tonal music in order to have a deeper understanding and perception of 20 th century music.
