Abstract/Summary:
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is the greatest composer and music educator in Russia in the late 19 th century.His works cover a wide range,including symphony,Concerto,chamber music,opera,ballet and other music genres.Because of its beautiful melody,it is known as the "Melody master" of Russia,and many works are well-known in the world and spread to this day.In his works,variations are rare.Especially in piano works,op.19 no.6 is the only piano variation by Tchaikovsky.This work was completed in Moscow in 1873.It is the last one of six piano pieces(Op.19),belonging to the composer’s early works.This work consists of a theme,12 variations and the ending.Different variations express different musical emotions.The composer uses the unique music vocabulary to conceive the whole music,the whole work has the distinct Russian national music characteristic from the beginning to the end.This paper will be discussed from three aspects: first,the composer’s life background and the creation background of variations are summarized;second,the development of music mood and performance techniques are analyzed one by one,and the other piano pieces of Tchaikovsky are compared to further understand the music creation methods and styles of Tchaikovsky;finally,the performance techniques are introduced Induction and thinking.I believe that through the analysis and research of this work,we can understand the creative characteristics of Tchaikovsky’s piano works more accurately,grasp the composer’s music style more clearly,and lay a solid foundation for professional piano performance and teaching.
