A Brief Analysis Of Shaanxi Opera Musical Elements Which Applied In Chinese Piano Works

Shaanxi Opera is the oldest opera in Northwest China,Which is also the one of the representatives of Chinese traditional music culture,it has high artistic and aesthetic value.Shaanxi Opera originated from the local folk songs and dances on the Loess Plateau,and flourished in Shaanxi,Gansu,Ningxia and other areas,with the persistent efforts of the local people over generations.Shaanxi Opera has its own characteristics in qupai,aria,structure and so on,which embodies the cultural heritage of Northwest China.Shaanxi Opera music has the characteristics of simple,boldness,always great momentum.It has distinct personality characteristics in many other Chinese operas.Since the introduction of piano music into China,Chinese composers have been exploring folk musical elements to create Chinese piano works,which makes the two different musical cultures of the East and the West skillfully integrated.The research object of this paper is that composers take Shaanxi opera musical elements as materials and western creative techniques as means,to make the ancient Chinese opera present to us in a new way.Chinese composers began to create piano works with Shaanxi opera musical elements in the 1950 s.Among them,the third piece in the“temple fair”suite composed by Mr.Jiang Zuxin in 1955,the piano work "Shaanxi opera theme sonata" written by Mr.Rao Yuyan in1958-1959,and the piano work "Warrior Figures of Qin Dynasty" written by Mr.Cui Bingyuan are important representatives.Since that,many famous Chinese composers,including Cui Bingyuan,Liang Hongqi and Wang Xilin,have tried to use the musical elements of Shaanxi opera to create piano works which have Shaanxi music style.This paper takes "Shaanxi opera theme sonata" and "Warrior Figures of Qin Dynasty" as examples make a A brief analysis of Shaanxi opera musical elements which applied in Chinese piano works.In terms of the form of works,"Shaanxi opera theme sonata" is a large-scale piano sonata,The "Warrior Figures of Qin Dynasty" is a piano piece with only 55 bars.In terms of creation time,the former was created in the 1950 s and the latter in the 1990 s.Through the analysis and Research on the creation background and performance skills of these two works,I can feel the creation idea and aesthetic pursuit of the two composers in different periods,analyze the application of Shaanxi Opera musical elements in piano works,wish to have a certain guiding significance for the player's performing and teaching and also whis to make more players pay their attention to Shaanxi Opera piano works.There are four parts in this paper.The first part will analyze the development of piano works of Shaanxi Opera,summarize the common characteristics of Shaanxi Opera musical elements in Chinese Piano Works.The second and third parts will analyze the musicnoumenon of the two works(Including composer's creative intention,creation background,musical structure,style and characteristics,etc.),make a deeply understanding of these two works.The last part will contrast the differences of Shaanxi Opera musical elements used in the two piano works in creation subject matter,creation technique,application of music material,music style,performance method,etc.
