The Research Of Pottery Stove Of Small And Medium-sized Han Tombs In Xi’an

Pottery stove is one of the most common model of the funerary objects in Han tombs.It is made from the kitchen in daily life.Among them,horseshoe shaped stove is the most common and the longest lasting,with various types;there are also a small number of rectangular,circular and trapezoidal stove.The funerary pottery stove in Xi’an area can be traced back to the Qin tomb in the late Warring States period.After the establishment of the Han Dynasty,a large number of funerary objects replaced the imitation bronze pottery ritual ware and became the mainstream of funerary products.In this paper,342 pottery ovens unearthed from small and medium-sized Han Tombs in Xi’an area are collected,and the specific information of each pottery stove is counted.The first chapter is a brief summary of the significance of the topic and the research status.In the second chapter,the collected pottery stoves were classified by typology.In the third chapter,the author makes a chronological inference on the basis of the shape of the tombs and the total artifacts,summarizes the development and evolution rules of the pottery stove in Xi’an area,and list a chronological table of the pottery stove in Han Tombs in Xi’an area,which provides a reference for the chronological study of the tombs in Xi’an and even in Guanzhong area.The fourth chapter uses the analytical method of the cultural elements to analyze the flow direction of Qin culture and the spread process of Han culture in the process of Han culture formation by comparing the differences between Qin and Han Tombs in Xi’an,and between Xi’an and Luoyang.The comparative study shows the importance of political status and cultural tradition for the formation and spread of culture,and Han culture’ Unity and Diversity.In the conclusion part,the author expounds the viewpoint of this paper : the pottery stove in Xi’an area of Han Dynasty is based on the horseshoe shaped stove in the Qin tomb,which absorbed the elements of Qin culture in the process of Han culture’s formation.The comparison indicates that the political and cultural traditional factors are of great significance to the formation and spread of culture.The cultural output of Xi’an area to Luoyang area was more obvious in the Western Han Dynasty,and Luoyang area became the cultural output the Eastern Han Dynasty due to the change of political status.
