To declare the list of intangible cultural heritage is one of the important ways to realize the legalization and development of folk beliefs in contemporary China.Folk beliefs have been recognized by the state by declaring the list of intangible cultural heritage, which has also broadened its development space. This is conducive to the inheritance of folk beliefs in the contemporary. And the traditional, excellent and reasonable content of folk beliefs can be better preserved. However,in this process,in order to better move closer to the mainstream consciousness and keep pace with the times, the applicants often " screen"," package” " or even " rewrite " the folk beliefs. The form and content of folk beliefs have undergone certain changes, and the connotation and significance of their beliefs are also facing the possibility of transformation.Taking the case of " Mazu Homecoming Ceremony " and " The Sea Sacrifice of Mazu" in Xianliang Port in Putian of Fujian Province as examples, this paper compares and analyses their joining in the list of intangible cultural heritage, and holds that the Intangible Cultural Heritage movement actually promotes the restoration and inheritance of these two beliefs in contemporary society, but the connotation and meaning and the subjectivity of belief have changed obviously.Folk beliefs can inherit the traditional culture contained in the intangible cultural heritage movement, which is protected by the national system and law.In this process,in order to meet the needs of social development, new changes will inevitably occur, which not only has an impact on the belief itself, but also on the local belief ecological pattern and people's belief life.
