To enrich the theory and measurement tools of social media use anxiety,this study compiled "The Social Media Anxiety Scale of College Students",which took undergraduates as subjects and based on literature analysis,combined with interviews,open questionnaires and other methods.At the same time,it discussed the current situation of college students’ social media use anxiety and the relationship between rumination and sleep quality.Conclusions were as followings:(1)The self-edited "The Social Media Anxiety Scale of College Students" consists of 19 projects and contains four dimensions,namely equipment and technical support anxiety,privacy and security anxiety,information processing anxiety and interactive anxiety.The scale had good reliability and validity and can be used as a measurement tool for further research.(2)The current situations of college students’ social media use anxiety and the results of the analysis of its demographic differences showed that college students’ social media use anxiety was at a medium-to-high level,with the highest level of equipment and technical support anxiety.There were significant differences in gender,grade,major,students’ origin,and only-child or not.(3)The relationship between college students’ social media use anxiety,rumination and sleep quality found that there was a significant positive correlation between college students’ social media use anxiety of its various dimensions and rumination and sleep quality.College students’ social media use anxiety had a significant positive predictive effect on rumination and sleep quality,rumination also had a significant positive predictive effect on sleep quality,and rumination played an intermediary role in the impact of social media use anxiety on sleep quality.
