| Oral English teaching in primary schools is a crucial part of English classroom teaching,and the main way to cultivate students’ language expression ability.Effective research on oral English teaching is of great significance for activating the classroom and improving English teaching.After being engaged in rural primary school English teaching for more than 17 years,the author has found that,due to the particularity of rural primary schools,there have been many problems in oral English teaching.Under this unique background,this study takes the fifth grade of a small elementary school as the research object.Through continuous evaluation and interview,the case study of "rhythmic poetry" is used to explore the new way of oral English teaching in rural primary schools.The study mainly focuses on two aspects: the current situation of oral English teaching in rural primary schools,and the evaluation of the effectiveness of "rhythm poetry” teaching method.Based on the above research content,this study has compiled oral assessment volumes and interview outlines for evaluation and interviews on the basis of a large number of literature studies.Firstly,the overall oral English level of the students in the second class of fifth grade in S primary school was tested.Then,interviews were conducted on 12 students in the class.Finally,through the comprehensive analysis of ability test and interview,the current situation of oral English teaching in S primary school was obtained.Students have low interest in learning,and the single learning content and wrong learning methods have contributed to poor learning results.In the face of such teaching conditions,the author uses the "rhythmic poetry” method to teach the students.The new teaching method was conducted in three aspects: "speaking" in-class,“speaking”out-of-class,and extracurricular “reading”.In the later part of the case study,through the evaluation volume and interview outline,the use of "rhythmic poetry" has been found effective,it did promote and improve the oral English teaching in rural primary schools.Based on the above research,this study finds that "rhythm poetry" method has played an active role rural primary schools in the following aspects: it stimulated the enthusiasm of students’ oral expression;enriched the content and methods of students’ oral learning;and improve the effectiveness of students’ oral English learning.Despite the author’s own lack of experience,this study still remain some problems,such as "rhythm poetry" is too singular in the final presentation,and the extracurricular content creation is too limited,as well as the small influence on the improvement of oral ability,and the display platform is not rich enough. |
