This paper is based on the writer's translation of a management genre book called From Insight to Action. The writer has identified the features of managerial books and translated in the pragmatic perspective, hence presenting this paper with several pieces of advice for translation of articles alike.Pragmatic translation enables translators to use many techniques developed by pragmatic studies, which includes pragmatic equivalence, presupposition and discourse coherence.Translation is in its essence a two-step process of understanding the original text and writing the translated text.Translators are required to analyze both the literal and the implied meanings of the text, and express the translated text in the target language context. Each specific pragmatic theory that the writer adopted in this paper is derived from meaning and context, the two basic concepts of pragmatics. In order to deliver a refined translated text, the writer of this paper, according to the features of management text, has developed a strategy which is three folded: translation strategy of complex sentences,of clauses and constraint phrases, and the solution for complex text logic. The writer had adopted many translation techniques such as literal translating,sentence-splitting,ellipsis and word class shift. With the presentation of translation cases and detailed analyses, this paper aims at elucidating the pragmatic perspective of translation and presenting translation techniques for other people to refer to when dealing with management text.
