Study On The Domesticated Adaptation Of Chinese Silent Films On Foreign Literature 1920-1931

Foreign literature has a great influence on China's silent films.Compared with other periods,1920 to 1931 is relatively the most prosperous historical stage of Chinese silent film adaptation of foreign literary works,studying the interaction between foreign literature and film in this period,examining the cross-cultural and cross-genre adaptation ecology of foreign literature and its success or failure.It is of great significance to develop the perspective and depth survey of the rewriting of Chinese film history.The globalization context also makes cross-cultural adaptation a hot topic,how to get out of the shackles of the translation of the original language,the domesticated adaptation of early films can provide a new perspective to solve the problem of how the social,historical and cultural factors represented by other countries' works are gradually integrated into the social context of their own country.This paper starts from the perspective of domestication,through historical data collection and text peruse and comparative analysis methods,extract the domesticated adaptation of the way and significance.The main part of the thesis are three chapters,the first chapter expounds the legendary orientation of Chinese silent film domesticated adaptation,the second chapter expounds the moral orientation of domesticated adaptation,and the third chapter expounds the traditional succession and the bud of modernity in the film.It is undeniable that there are still some shortcomings in the adaptation of foreign literary works in the silent film period,but the domesticated adaptation method has shown vitality at the beginning of China's early film practice and can provide enlightenment for the current cross-cultural adaptation.
