| The "New Life Movement" is a national transformation movement launched by the Chinese Nationalist Party in the 1930 s and 1940 s.In the process of modernization in China,with "rules" "clean" and "militarization" "production" and "artisticization" as the main thrust,advocate through the renovation of the details of life and other aspects of civilization and health to achieve national rejuvenation of the "New Life Movement",Inherited the transformation system of modern China.The environment of the times makes the "New Life Movement" have a distinct militaristic color and anti-communist tendency,which is its reactionary side,and the movement hopes to shape the modern people with national spirit through the transformation of daily life,still has certain historical significance.In this movement,which focuses on the transformation of daily life,many details of movement focus on family space,family relationships or specific family members,and the family becomes an important place to train the nation,so the image of the family as the subject of this period is worth paying attention to.The "New Life Movement" interprets the relationship between the people and the state by means of family metaphor,and shows great interest in the traditional mora.In the movement,women are portrayed as good images of returning to the family,while children experience the meaning of competition and collective under the "Preserve race" discourse of the state.The movement's emphasis on the collective nature of "uniformity" contributed to the emergence of group wedding,the procedure and organizational form of group wedding showing that the state began to interference the private realm of the family.Various lifestyle reforms in the name of "health" and "civilization" re-define the boundaries of state power while promoting the modernization of life.The "New Life Movement" shows the changes and contradictions of the relationship between individuals,families and the state in the process of modernization.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the relevant content and implementation of the "New Life Movement",analyzes the discourse mode and operating characteristics used by the movement,analyzes the social nature of the family in the "New Life Movement",summarizes the family image that "New Life Movement" wants to shape around the image of the group wedding.The second chapter is the core chapter of this article,which focuses on the image of family members in the press in the context of the movement,women and children are the most worthy of attention.The first section begins with the frequent appearance of images in the press of women holding babies,from the relevant clues of "inheritance" and "correction" of image to study the female image and the relationship between family and country created by the movement discourse.The second section starts with health posters,health care advertisements and photography,and summarizes the relationship between the family and the state with the image of children.The concept of hygiene,health,competition and collectiveization shapes children into the hope of the family and the state,and the various discipline discourses also shape the children's bodies.The third chapter focuses on the main feature of order analysis movement how to convey the order of the collective and the family life through visual images,and research the discourse of the "New Life Movement" represent by the form and visual mechanism of the image.The last chapter places the specific movement measures in the context of modernization,and summarizes the image of "family" at the social level: the transformation activities around the family not only reflect the differences between the two parties,but also reflect the profound contradiction between individuals,families and the state in the process of modernizing the national consciousness. |
