As an ordinary young painter,in observing and studying the development of figurative painting,it is noted that some of its characteristics are quietly in the picture,that is,object representation,the author tries to associate ancient and modern paintings to prove the existence,development and continuity of such representation in the contemporary painting scene.The first chapter of this paper expounds the meaning of fetish characterization,and correlates and distinguishes the concept of fetish characterization of contemporary figurative painting with fetishism at the psychological level and fetishism in the traditional sense,with the definition of "things" as the starting point,combining "animist" and other theoretical points of view provide theoretical support and practical significance for this paper to explain the characterization and development of fetish.The appearance of fetish characterization is not accidental,but is based on the tradition of figurative painting and the inevitable extension of the times,but also the individual exists in the development of contemporary social civilization spiritual products.Therefore,this paper tries from the second chapter to form a timeline from the historical reason of the characterization of fetish,for example,analyzes and combs the context of modernism and postmodernism to contemporary fetish characterization in the painting works,and looks for the contemporary diffraction of the expression of fetish and its reasons and academic value.The third chapter uses case analysis method,the same kind of comparative method analyzes the cases of contemporary creators,and classifies and summarizes three kinds of fetish-style paintings with different angles as examples: 1.Materialization of time and desire,2.materialization of individual experience and feelings,3.materialization of digital images beyond reality.The fourth chapter combines the author's creation,divided into three stages,respectively,expounds the author's communication clues about love objects.
