Throughout the history of western art,the deformed germs gradually sprouted among the customary fixed shapes in ancient Egypt to the paintings in Renaissance.Although the deformed representation is not ruled exclusively by modernist oil painting art.Deformation is undeniable that it has been given fresh vitality after stepping into the new era of modernism. This dissertation mainly focuses on the modernist oil painting from the middle of the 19 th century to the middle and late 20 th century, and the creation of oil painting with characters as the theme has undergone more prominent changes.I select some painters and major schools with great deformation characteristics for case analysis and combined with the works to explore the types of deformation. The images in these paintings could be compressed or elongated, disassembled or reorganized,or distorted or straightened to give the viewer a different aesthetic experience. The British painter Francis Bacon is one of the painters who can use the expression of deformation freely, and he is also a painter with characters and portraits as the theme. The purpose of this paper is to explore the application of bacon's deformation technique through the analysis of a case. The deformed image becomes an important part of the picture, such as non-muddy brush strokes or harmonious but individual colors.I learned Bacon's painting techniques and deformation ideas from the colors and strokes in the painting elements.Combined with the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze's theoretical research into Bacon's painting world, explore how Bacon makes the invisible forces in painting become visible, and further elaborate the basis and performance of deformation. Finally, combined with my own creative experience,I show the characteristics of my creation, the image of transformation, trying to look at the deformation from a new perspective, and the create personalized style through the expressive of feeling.
