As early as the middle of the Qing Dynasty,the catalog of engravings already included “well-placed pavilions,pagodas and towers”,exhibiting the orderly beauty in life themes in the form of engravings.Japanese engravings artist Keisuke Yamamoto is famous for his rigorous and precise works that show a strong sense of order under a high degree of rationality;female artist Kiki Smith expresses torso works in a simple and repetitive arrangement mode;Richard Hamilton applies different creative materials to engravings to show "concrete order and abstract order".The sense of order has an important impact on engravings and conveys us the creative value and aesthetic orientation of engravings.Based on the creative history of engravings from the past to today,the author is impressed by the appearance of "sense of order" in engravings and the generation of individual perception of "sense of order";and based on the creative experience of "sense of order",the author explored the concrete expression of " sense of order" in engravings.In summary,the paper consists of four chapters.In the first chapter,the reasons and pur poses of studying on the "sense of order",the study content and the study status were int roduced.In the second chapter,providing a brief description and analysis of theories on the "sense of order",which include Arnheim'sand Gombrich's "sense of order",and my article's view on "sense of order".In the third chapter,the printmaking creation means,picture form and creative thinking of "sense of order" in printmaking were discu ssed by combing the past and present printmaking history and printmaking creation.In t he fourth chapter,the origin of creative ideas and the specific creative process were disc ussed through my own creative practice.the fifth chapter is summary.This paperaims to explore the possibility of printmaking with "sense of order" as the Path through valuable study and analysis of printmaking.
