The change of the times and the re-development of art and artistic concepts have given painting spaces a new expression.Coupled with the emergence and widespread application of photographic technology, people are no longer obsessed with expressing the sense of space of the objective world in two-dimensional pictures. But pay more attention to the expression of the emotional and spiritual world in the painting space. From Impressionism to Cubism to Abstraction, the use of repetitive and misplaced plane expressions in contemporary painting has created completely different artistic effects from traditional paintings, while also constructing unique painting spaces. The method of plane expression can not only reflect the emotions and artistic imagination of contemporary painters, but also provide the guidance of painting concepts for the future development of contemporary painting. This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter explores the concepts of contemporary painting, painting space, painting plane, and spatial connotation. While analyzing the origin of contemporary painting,it also combines the background of the era to analyze the meaning of painting plane and space. The form of expression was studied. In the second chapter, this article summarizes and analyzes the evolutionary stages of the plane in the painting space, and divides the development of the concept of painting space into three parts: “reality”,“doubt” about reality, and the tendency to flatten.Painting works and corroboration. In the third chapter, this article analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of the painting space of the plane construction in the painting works, and also analyzes the plane expression form of the visual effect of the constructed space in combination with the work, and then expresses the spatial connotation under the plane construction through the space effect of painting. This chapter takes the beginning of modernist art as a clue, and discusses and illustrates the development and evolution of planes in painting from two aspects,on the one hand,it is attached to the plane of the body, and it is demonstrated by the works of artists such as Cezanne and Picasso; On the one hand,it is expounded from the perspective of the plane gradually detaching from the form and independent of the painting space, and represented by Roscoe,Malevich, etc.,to build the expressed spatial connotation. The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the painting ideas of contemporary paintings and contemporary artists, and expounds the diverse expression forms of painting planes in contemporary paintings. This chapter is based on the contemporary background of people in the present age.For example, the works of four artists with different cultural backgrounds are analyzed. In their works, the flat ways are presented in different forms and ways in their paintings. Each artist's environment is different, thus showing a variety of spatial connotations in their works. The fifth chapter is about his own creation, combining past works to explain the way and working methods of the plane-constructed space in his own creation.Through combing the context of previous works,he gradually discusses the meaning of his own creative practice.
