Tara Westover's autobiography Educated:A MEMOIR attracted wide attention from readers at home and abroad because of her unique family background and true story. There are many researches on autobiographical texts at home and abroad, but few from the perspective of Toury's translation norm theory. The author aims to explore the translation practice of autobiographical texts from the perspective of the translation norms. It is a typical biographical text with typical authenticity and literariness.Taking five chapters of the book as cases, the report focuses on the analysis of the influence of the preparatory specification and operational specification in the process of translation. It analyzes the translation strategies and methods adopted in the process of autobiographical text translation based on specific cases. The author first introduces the preparation work before translation, including the source and main content of translation materials.Secondly, the whole translation practice plan is introduced.Furthermore, the development and connotation of Toury's translation norm theory are introduced in detail, and the selection of translation methods is analyzed in detail by combining cases. Finally,it describes the research limitations and summarizes the translation experience.Through the translation of the Educated:A MEMOIR text, the author further understood the language features of autobiographical texts, and had a further understanding of the application of the theory in practical operation, looking forward to providing some references for relevant translation practices.
