The source text is taken from a book published by the World Conservation Union(IUCN)in 2019,called Integrated Planning:Policy and Law Tools for Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change.The author is a member of the IUCN named Barbara Lausche.This project involves the second chapter of this book,which shows us the advances in international law,science,and governance,covering a large number of convention.There are a lot of professional terms and proper nouns with a high degree of nominalization and many difficult sentences in this text.Taking the translation of the second chapter of Integrated Planning : Policy and Law Tools for Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change as the object of research,the report conducts a thorough analysis of specific cases.As the text involves a large number of international conventions,the case analysis focuses on the translation of conventions.The translation report is conducted from three parts,the translation of the Convention name,the Convention vocabulary and the Convention sentence.The translator translates this text based on the linguistic characteristics of convention types.The translation report provides a lot of great experience and knowledge concerning modern spatial planning.There are many and miscellaneous terms in the text,many clauses and sentences in the Convention,and the original language is formal and standard.In the processing of words,techniques such as word selection and part-of-speech conversion are mainly used.For long and difficult sentences in the text,translators mainly adopt methods such as sequential translation,reordering,and incremental translation.The translator is objective to ensure the accuracy and rigor,report offers the experiences and reflections of this translation,in the hope of providing some instructions for the author of the report to engage herself in future translation work and other translators to deal with such texts.
