A Study Of Witchery Culture In Cuo Nuo Ji A Bimo Document Of Yi

The Bimo document Cuo Nuo Ji is the product of the Yi ancestors’ understanding and treatment of leprosy.It is a sacrificial scripture with scriptures as its carrier and rituals as its means,It can prevent and treat the leprosy in its unique way,which is specially used to exorcise the evil spirits and curse the leprosy in order to dispel the foul diseases.Yi think that the leper comes down to the world with thunder and lightning,haunts the world,and brings great suffering to the world.Therefore,Bimo is invited to drive out the leper and treat the leper with witchcraft rituals and incantations.Witchcraft thinking runs through the ideas of the ancestors of the Yi and guides the actions in the real life of the Yi.The culture of witchcraft of Yi is one of the cultural phenomena with a long history.The ceremony of Cuo Nuo Ji communicates with gods through cleaning,exorcising,praying,sacrificing and symbolic simulation activities,so as to achieve the fundamental purpose of eliminating pollution and filth,expelling leprosy and curing leprosy,on the basis of removing leprosy roots,we hope to get the protection and blessing of ancestors and gods.This paper takes Cuo Nuo Ji as the research object,borrows the witchery theory of James George Fraser,an English anthropologist,and comprehensively uses the research methods of literature analysis,interpretation and demonstration to explore the witchcraft culture in Cuo Nuo Ji.From the witchcraft existing in the literature,this paper interprets the corresponding witchery culture,analyzes the spiritual world of Yi on the basis of witchery culture,and explores the positive role and positive function of witchery culture in Yi’s life.This paper is mainly composed of introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction mainly deals with the reasons for choosing the topic,the research status,innovation and research methods of Cuo Nuo Ji,a Bimo document of Yi.There are three chapters in the text: the first chapter is a study of the general situation of the literature of Cuo Nuo Ji,mainly describing the content,nature,characteristics and use of the literature.The second chapter is to interpret the connotation of witchery culturein Cuo Nuo Ji,including the belief culture,taboo culture and language art culture of Yi with the nature of witchery culture.The third chapter is to explore the function of witchery culture in Cuo Nuo Ji,mainly from four aspects: Witchcraft myth,witchcraft ceremony,witchcraft taboo and the Enlightenment of witchery culture.The conclusion part is the summary of the study.Yi’s belief in witchcraft makes the leper see the dawn of hope,encourages the leper to actively fight against the leper and overcome the leprosy,and finds the courage to live and the dignity to be human.Sorcery culture teaches people to be confident and not timid when they are in trouble,to deal with it actively,to attack it actively and to overcome difficulties.This paper analyzes and discusses the Bimo document Cuo Nuo Ji,hoping to provide a substantial case analysis for the study of Yi’s witchery culture.
