Study On The Night-shift Poems Of The Tang Dynasty

The night-shift poems were a kind of theme type poetry,with night-shift life as the theme,and experiences and thoughts during night-shift time as the contents.This paper took the night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty as main study objects,and collected 153 night-shift poems from The Complete Poetry of Tang Dynasty and Supplement to The Complete Poetry of Tang Dynasty.This paper tried to explore the historical document values and literary values of the night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty,discussed on the functions of the night-shift poems in the communication of people in the Tang Dynasty and the reflected psychology of scholar-officials,and summarized the artistic features of such poems.This paper included the following contents:The introduction part explained the subject selection reason of this paper,commented on the currently existing study achievements,clarified the study sense and study space of the selected subject,determined that the night-shift poems were a kind of theme type poetry,and clarified the connotations and denotations of such poems.The main text of this paper was divided into five chapters.The Chapter Ⅰ explained the meaning of the word “night-shift”,and clarified that the night-shift poems were produced under the night-shift system.Starting from the view of history,it combined the night-shift poems of people in the Tang Dynasty to tease out the night-shift system of civil officials of the Tang Dynasty.The Chapter Ⅱ firstly determined that the creation subjects of the night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty were the scholar-officials of the Tang Dynasty participating in the night-shift,who had dual identity as bureaucrats and literati;then from important points it teased out the backgrounds of officials when poets of the Tang Dynasty creating the night-shift poems.The Chapter Ⅲ mainly studied the creation conditions of the night-shift poems.It firstly summarized main contents of night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty,then clarified the relationship between night-shift and poem reward.The night-shift reward was one of means that the scholar-officials of the Tang Dynasty having social intercourse.The night-shift reward works had the functions of communication as well as presenting and seeking an interview with requests for favor.The Chapter Ⅳ discussed on the psychology of people in the Tang Dynasty which was reflected in the night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty.In the way of combined literature and history,through the study on the representative cases,this Chapter discussed on the honors and worries as well as entry into political stratum and retirement from political life which were displayed by people in the Tang Dynasty in the night-shift poems.The Chapter Ⅴ summarized the artistic features of the night-shift poems of the Tang Dynasty.The night-shift poems took rhymes as main types,and gorgeous and elegant styles as main styles.However,there were still some poems apart from main styles of the night-shift poems.Such poems described the scenery of official residence by use of landscape depiction,and broke the single aesthetic styles of night-shift poems.
