Edward Alexander MacDowell(1860-1908)is one of the most important composers and pianists in the late 19 th century and the early 20 th century.He is the first American composer with international reputation.Among his many piano works,piano pieces are the most representative.During his study in Europe,most of the creation themes of piano works came from his poetry or drama works in reading literature.Op.32,the four little poems completed in 1888,is a piano work selected from the poems of four famous British poets.This paper is mainly divided into three chapters,describing MacDowell's music career and the creation characteristics,music noumenon analysis and music performance analysis of four little poems.The first chapter mainly summarizes and analyzes MacDowell's music career,his early and late achievements in piano creation,and the creation background and characteristics of four little poems.The second chapter analyzes the structure of each piano piece in the four little poems,and summarizes the tonality and harmony,melody and rhythm.The third chapter,based on the author's performance experience,makes a detailed performance analysis of the four little poems,and studies from the aspects of grasping the musical image,touching the key,timbre,pedal application and other technologies,so that the performer can more accurately grasp MacDowell's musical art style,better perform and grasp the artistic connotation of the four little poems. |
