Abstract/Summary:
As revival and inheritance to traditional Chinese dance culture,Chinese classical dance has cultivated a dozen of a great actors and great classic dance dramas by the systematic and element-based training model.Creating a character plays a significant role in the whole picture of the drama, which would determine itself whether to success or fail.Given that creating a character is an essential element,Chinese classic dance directors have taken it very seriously and have created a lot of classics drama’s roles within 60 years. At present, when scholars explore the characterization of Chinese classical dance works, they basically take fewer dance works as the research object, and use narrative methods to describe the character movement characteristics and the performance methods and characteristics of dance movements. The research focuses on how to perform, and few scholars will study the characters in Chinese classical dance works from the perspective of choreography. This article intends to explore the characters in Chinese classical dance works from the three works of "Ta-ge"(singing and dancing at once),"The Dream of a Lady" and "Kong Yiji",including the study of the thematic significance of the character images, the character images shaping process, the motivation in the process of character images construction, and the dynamics of the character images. The innovation of this article is studying the characterization process of the three works, and then studying the character images shaping process, and providing a little theoretical support to the choreographer in crating Chinese classical dance works and the performers in performing art practices. In addition,in the context of "cultural self-confidence" advocated by President Xi Jinping, the study of Chinese classical dance works and the creation of works can provide a certain reference for the study of Chinese culture.
